Index Sheets

The Index Sheets tool analyzes the entire workbook and creates a new sheet called Index that displays a listing of all the sheets in the workbook.

Each sheet is listed as a hyperlink along with the following information:

  • Type - If the sheet was created with Easy-XL then the description will be included here
  • nRows - The number of rows in the sheet
  • nCols - The number of columns in the sheet
  • nCells - The total number of used cells in the sheet
  • nBlanks - The total number of blank cells in the sheet
  • nHidden - The total number of hidden cells in the sheet

The following items are used to guage the complexity of a sheet. The more formulas and named ranges in a sheet, the more complex the sheet and therefore the higher the risk that the sheet may contain logical procesing errors. These figures can be suppresed in the Options command.

  • nNamedRanges - The total number of named ranges within the sheet
  • nLinks - The total number of links in the sheet
  • nFormulas - The total number of cells that contain a formula.
  • nErrors - The total number of cells with errors in the sheet
  • nIfs - The number of cells that contain an if statement
  • nNestedIfs - The number of cells that contain an if function nested within another if function
  • nSumPlus - The number of cells containing a sum function that has a value or formula added to it
  • nSumMinus - The number of cells containing a sum function that has a value or formula subtracted from it

Any comments found in the workbook are listed along with their locations after the worksheets.
